2009 Toast to Living Well a Healthy Success!

A snowy start to the day didn't dampen spirits, as more than 700 of Houston's most influential leaders—top physicians, successful entrepreneurs and inspiring tastemakers—enjoyed a social night of delectable fare, casino, dancing and a wonderful collection of silent auction and raffle prizes.

This year's beneficiary, The Ashlyn Horry Foundation, established by NBA great Robert Horry and his wife Keva, was presented with a $20K donation plus a prestigious City of Houston Proclamation dedicating December 4th as The Ashlyn Horry Foundation Day. Fifteen-year-old Ashlyn was born with a rare chromosomal abnormality called 1p36 Deletion Syndrome. Inspired by Ashlyn’s courage and passion for life, the Horry family established the foundation in her name to provide support for research, community initiatives and individual families whose children fight to overcome disabilities.
