AROD Sales Team "Bear" Their Heart

Alex Rodriguez would like to applaud our big-hearted sales
team for their dedication to living by our philosophy: Playing
with Heart

Hoping to bring a little sunshine into the lives of pediatric patients
at the Texas Children's Hospital, Derrick Sabatier, Eric Valentino,
Juhree Barnett and Karena Kane arrived at the Hospital on May 11th,
bringing 250 lovable teddy bears to hand out to children across five
hospital floors.

It was an incredibly touching experience, as children's eyes lit up in delight when they saw the bears and picked out their favorite one to keep. "It was extremely emotional, but seeing the children smile, made it all worth it!" said Karena Kane.

ARod MB Celebrates, Remembers and Fights Back

Alex Rodriguez Mercedes-Benz proudly sponsored the Bay Area's commitment to celebrate the lives of cancer survivors, remember loved ones, and fight back against the disease at the American Cancer Society Relay For Life. On May 7th, 27 teams consisting of survivors, friends, neighbors and caregivers took part in this global movement to raise much-needed funds to benefit The American Cancer Society in its mission to end cancer. The Relay began at dusk as cancer survivors took the first lap, and continued as participants walked or ran around the Sportsplex through the night and into the following day. Everyone enjoyed games, music, entertainment, a luminaria ceremony and great fellowship, as they celebrated an outstanding $80,000 fundraising effort!

Go Red for Women

A Record-Breaking Success

For the fifth consecutive year, Alex Rodriguez Mercedes-Benz was proud to support the Go Red for Women campaign by sponsoring the Bay Area Go Red for Women Luncheon on March 26, 2010 at the South Shore Harbour Resort.

This year, sponsors and donors banded together to raise an extraordinary $65,000 to help women raise awareness, and reduce risk, of heart disease and stroke.

Additionally, Alex Rodriguez is pleased to offer a $500 discount to all luncheon attendees who purchase a Mercedes-Benz through the month of April 2010. Of that, $250 per car will be donated to the American Heart Association. For more information about the Go Red campaign, please visit www.goredforwomen.org.

Alex Rodriguez sincerely applauds all of you who attended and participated in such a vital life-saving campaign. We look forward to another successful partnership in 2011.

Spirit Of The Season

The Alex Rodriguez Mercedes-Benz team celebrated the spirit of the holiday season by playing Santa Claus to children who are unable to celebrate Christmas at home. In partnership with Project Joy and Hope, a local nonprofit agency that provides support to critically ill children and their families in our community, Alex Rodriguez Mercedes-Benz turned their company holiday bash into wondrous toyland magic! Each employee donated three new toys to Project Joy and Hope for its Holidays program, collecting more than 250 toys for area children.

Jamie Byrd, Director of Child Life at Texas Children's Hospital, beamed with delight when Dr. Jan Wheeler, Executive Director of Project Joy and Hope, drove up in front of the Emergency Room with an SUV "sleigh" filled with new games, dolls, sports equipment and toys! Jamie remarked, "This is absolutely wonderful! Our team will be able to put a smile on the faces of so many children!"

Project Joy and Hope extends its sincere appreciation to everyone at Alex Rodriguez Mercedes-Benz for your generosity to children facing very difficult challenges. Happy New Year!

Scholarship Fund donation effort, an impressive success!

Alex Rodriguez Mercedes-Benz thanks everyone who took advantage of the fall specials to help give a deserving child a chance at a brighter future.

From September 12 - October 31st, Alex Rodriguez Mercedes-Benz donated a portion from the sale of every new and pre-owned vehicle to Project Joy & Hope’s scholarship fund, providing bereaved children the resources for a better education. We raised $6,150 and proudly presented the check to Project Joy & Hope on November 10.

Our Fall Into Fun Festival on September 12 kicked off the Scholarship Fund donation effort. Families enjoyed a variety of activities, from face painting to magic tricks to live music by The Lone Wolves, as ARod presented Project Joy & Hope with the first check, in what turned out to be significant donation generated through this effort.

ARod MB Supports The Fight Against Breast Cancer.

The statistics are shocking: One in eight American women who live to be 85 years old will develop breast cancer. That means that more than 12 percent of women in the U.S. will hear the words, “You have breast cancer.”

The good news is that with increased funding for research, successful early-detection campaigns and improved treatments, more women are surviving this disease.

The first step to survival is early detection. To help more women get the screening they need, Alex Rodriguez Mercedes-Benz donated $3,000 – $100 for each of Alex Rodriguez’s 30 homeruns this season – to The Rose, which provides screening, diagnoses and access to treatment for breast cancer patients, regardless of their ability to pay. The donation from Alex Rodriguez Mercedes-Benz means that 35 uninsured women can now get potentially life-saving mammograms.

The Alex Rodriguez Mercedes-Benz team presented the check to The Rose on October 23, while proudly wearing our Think Pink shirts, to express our support for breast cancer awareness and increased funding for research and treatment.

Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Houston

Alex Rodriguez Mercedes-Benz supports Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Houston by periodically donating a percentage of sales to the organization and though other volunteer efforts. As national spokesperson for Boys and Girls Clubs of America, Alex Rodriguez champions Campaign 3 P.M., the Boys and Girls Clubs’ initiative to enroll every child in America in an after-school program. This landmark campaign is one of the Boys and Girls Clubs’ most aggressive efforts, and is the first time in its history a bilingual approach has been taken.
